General Services Office (GSO) Report
2023 Activities
The General Services Office (GSO) played a pivotal role in managing human resources and providing comprehensive support services to the Provincial Government and the province. In 2023, the GSO focused on:
- Developing plans for citizen welfare aligned with the provincial government’s mandate.
- Managing properties and ensuring continuity of essential services.
- Improving community well-being.
2024 Activities
In 2024, the GSO undertook construction, repair, and maintenance projects across various government facilities in Occidental Mindoro, including:
- Construction of a Powerhouse at the PGO San Jose Sub-Office.
- Repainting and improvement of the Provincial Satellite Office Main Building in San Jose.
- Repair and improvement work at hospitals: Abra de Ilog, Santa Cruz, San Jose District, Sta. Cruz Community, and Lubang District Hospitals.
- Infrastructure improvements at the Provincial Tourism Office and Provincial Youth Development Office.
- Repainting the Capitol Building and facilities within the Capitol Compound.
- Maintenance works: electrical troubleshooting, roof repairs, installation of Christmas lights and decorations.
Personnel Development
The GSO conducted several learning and development programs for its 282 personnel, including permanent staff, security guards, and regular employees. Key initiatives included:
- 1st GSO MANCOM
- Symposium on women’s rights and welfare
- Basic Incidental Command System Course
- Seminar on the Government Procurement Reform Act and its updates
- Participation in the 29th Regional Conference of Human Resource Management Practitioners
- Workshop on gender-responsive and climate change adaptive project proposals
Resource Management
The GSO managed government property and supplies efficiently, ensuring proper inventory, disposal, and distribution of materials needed by various provincial departments. Through these efforts, the office continues to support professional growth and effective management of resources to meet the province’s development goals.
